Richard J. Gottlieb has 40 years of experience as a litigator and trial attorney in the areas of medical malpractice, premises and construction liability, products liability, automobile, casualty and insurance coverage. He has tried in excess of 100 cases in the courts of New York City and its surrounding counties, achieving impressive results.
Prior to the founding of the firm, Mr. Gottlieb was a member at a prominent defense litigation firm, where he practiced tort defense from 1981 to 2000. Mr. Gottlieb tried major felony cases as an Assistant District Attorney in the Office of the District Attorney, Kings County, New York from 1977 to 1981.
Mr. Gottlieb attended McGill University and the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974. Mr. Gottlieb earned his law degree from Washington University in 1977. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the United States Supreme Court.
